The School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University is known for their end of year showcase, where graduating seniors go on a whirlwind tour of New York and LA. When the COVID-19 Pandemic went into full lock-down, this event became impossible due to imposed restrictions. As a result, a plan to develop an interactive webinar style eShowcase website was hatched and put into action. The Marketing and Communication’s department asked us to develop a small membership website with zoom integration (handled internally at CMU), restricted content member only access, and customized student portfolio pages.
is a globally know drama program that combines established practice with progressive pedagogical and technological advancement across all disciplines. The School is committed to enriching a myriad of arts practices, championing interdisciplinary collaborations, and exploring new forms of creative expression. Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama produces innovators, practitioners and industry leaders in the arts and entertainment professions who indelibly impact how people experience the world at large. This also marks the importance of their annual Showcase and the development of their 2020 eShowcase website as a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and lock-down.
Our #1 priority was to build a fully mobile responsive website that highlighted the 2020 graduating class and promote a live webinar with industry professionals. Following our wireframes and sitemap, we developed a beautiful website that creatively presented each students portfolio or work and allowed member only access to restricted content and information. The eShowcase website we built was fully mobile responsive, lightning fast, and a great resource for the School of Drama committee.

“If I could, I would give Mark Werle some kind of medal for the beautiful website he built for us. His work was uniformly excellent, despite our ridiculously condensed timeline. He is incredibly responsive and generous. If anyone asked us to recommend a web designer, he’d be the one; he is truly exceptional.”
